JEFF PRIEUR – 2019/2020 SAM NICHOLS ELECTRICAL FACTORY STOCK CHAMPION

Jeff Prieur, better known as “Poison” during his jet ski racing days in the 90’s just clinched his fourth consecutive title as Sam Nichols Electrical Factory Stock Champion. He is the only driver who has been able to surpass a “three-peat” championship at Havasu 95 Speedway. Jeff started racing Factory Stocks in 2013 as a way for he and his wife Nickie to unwind and get away from their jet ski business, Champion Rentals here in Lake Havasu City. He proudly sports #321 as his race car number in honor of International Down Syndrome Day, his son’s birthday who has Downs, and it also being the day his father passed. Jeff’s pit crew is himself and the support of his loving wife Nickie. “It’s always fun to come into Turn 4 and see her jumping up and down with excitement”. Jeff moved to Lake Havasu about 30 years ago to train for the IJSBA Nationals and World Finals. He and his wife Nickie used to travel the National Tour together with Jet skis. Jeff has three world championships in Personal Watercraft and is a member of the Personal Watercraft IJSBA Hall of Fame. “I think one of my most memorable moments in racing is when I had won a world championship and I rode over to tech and everybody was congratulating me, and the craziness was everywhere! But all at once all the people parted and made way for my dad to come down and give me a hug and say, “we did it”. He whispered it in my ear. It was as corny as can be, but it is one of the best memories I have of my dad. He sacrificed for me to have a career in racing.” Jeff started racing at the age of 12. He has raced Motocross, Supercross, Jet Ski’s and now asphalt racing at Havasu 95 Speedway, a “Thrill Junkie” he is for sure! Jeff is one of the most courteous and well natured drivers you'll see at Havasu 95 Speedway, and full of talent! He has it all! We are very proud and pleased to call him our 2019/2020 “4 Time” Sam Nichols Electrical Factory Stock Champion and look forward to seeing what he has to bring to the table next season! Congratulations Jeff!!

THE OFFICE COCKTAIL LOUNGE BANDOLEROS 2019/2020 CHAMPION - MAXWELL ROMZEK

Maxwell Romzek, who calls himself 72Max, is 11 years old and a new racer. For the previous two racing seasons he was content cheering on his brother and being a member of his pit crew, until one day he changed his mind and announced he wanted to race too! He just finished his 5th grade year and will be attending Lied STEM Academy in the fall. When he isn’t racing Max enjoys building Legos, creating worlds in Minecraft, Speed Stacking, and practicing his racing skills on I-Racing. Congratulations Max on a job well done! JEREMY OROZCO – 2019-2020 GET IT IN GEAR STREET STOCK CHAMPION
We have watched this young man grow up at the racetrack. 23-year-old Jeremy Orozco started his racing journey in 2009 at the age of 12 where he first ran two seasons in the Bandolero division at Havasu 95 Speedway and I-10 Speedway in Blythe, CA. He finished off strong in his second season in the Bandoleros winning the championship at I-10 Speedway in Blythe and 2nd place at Havasu. At 14 he moved up to the street stock division where he ran four seasons before taking a two-year hiatus after joining the United States Air Force. Jeremy has four 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes in the Street Stock division. This year he was bound and determined to burn that “bridesmaid” dress! One of Jeremy's biggest racing accomplishments is being able to say that he's won at every race track he's ran at. Jeremy is a crew chief on F-15 fighter jets and is stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nevada. Outside of racing, Jeremy is an avid sports fan, he loves spending time with family and his two dogs, and enjoys going dirt bike riding with his wife Bailey. This young man is calm, cool, and collected both on and off the racetrack, and prides himself on having one of the cleanest and best-looking cars on the track. Just one of many reasons we are very proud to call him our 2019/2020 Get it in Gear Street Stock Champion. Congratulations Jeremy on a job well done!

BRODY WAKE – HAVASU WIRING 2019/2020 ANIMAL OUTLAW/125 KART CHAMPION

Brody will be 13 years old next month and will entering 8th grade in the fall at Thunderbolt Middle School in Lake Havasu. He has raced in the outlaw kart division the last five years at Havasu 95 Speedway with a total of seven years under his belt. He was our 2017/2018 champion in the Havasu Wiring 206 Outlaw Kart division. When he’s not racing, he enjoys playing soccer and skate boarding. This spring he moved up in divisions to a Micro Sprint. Although we do not run Micro Sprints at Havasu 95 Speedway, I’m sure we will still see his presence at Havasu 95 Speedway mentoring some of our younger Outlaw Kart racers. Who knows, maybe we will convince Mom and Dad to try asphalt racing one day!! “Two Wheel” as we call him, no explanation needed, has the whole package…amazing talent, a stellar personality on and off the racetrack and a very supportive family. We are very pleased and proud to call him our 2019/2020 Havasu Wiring Animal Outlaw/125 Kart Champion!!

Havasu 95 Speedway

Time to get out of the house for a little while. Stop by and say hi!!!Hello all you great fans and followers of Havasu 95 Speedway. All of us at the track have been working diligently to try to get back to some sort of normal. We have been in continued communication with our City Officials and also our own legal advisors to find out what, if any, type of an event can be held at our facility at this time. We did get a bit of good and positive news. We will be allowed to re-open on Saturday May 30th with an Automotive Swap Meet. We are very excited to be able to put on this event. This event is small enough to follow all Lake Havasu City rules and regulations during the ongoing pandemic scenario. We are taking this as a small opening to getting back to some normal for our fans, followers, and our community.
At this time unfortunately, putting on a stock car racing event is just not possible for us. We are not able to open our grandstands to the public to put on a show. All of us here at Havasu 95 Speedway are very disappointed with that, but we have to follow the same rules and regulations as all other businesses and operations in our city. And even as businesses are slowly re-opening with permission and set guidelines, our legal team and insurance carrier has advised us to be very mindful of our climate. Trying to put on an outdoor event with 100 degree or higher temperatures can have negative effects on our fans, staff, and our racers. We want to keep in mind the well being and safety for all that are involved. At this time we feel it necessary to close out our 2019-2020 season as it stands and start working toward our upcoming 2020-2021 racing season. Our intentions are to re-open early in September and YES YES YES, we will be having the infamous Night of Destruction with the Waterless Boat Race as our season opener. We intend to also honor all of division champions on that very night. Stay tuned for details on our Website and Facebook. All 2019-2020 season pass holders will be honored on the 2020-2021 season opener. So with that, all divisions have been completed with the points earned and tallied from the Mar 7th,2020 race event date. All of us at Havasu 95 Speedway congratulate our champions with a job well done. We all wish it didn’t have to be this way but we have to follow the rules and guidelines of our City Management and Officials. We are already very excited for September and to get back to some racing. Stay Tuned for more.......

So in the meantime, we will start with an Automotive Swap Meet on Saturday May 30th starting at 5am to 11am. If this event goes well without issue, then we will have another Automotive Swap Meet on Saturday June 20th at 5am to 11am. We hope that many of you are able to attend, please come on out and visit us. However, we do kindly ask that if you are not feeling well, if you are uncomfortable around other people, please do not attend or jeopardize anyone of our staff, our vendors, or anyone else.
Best wishes and safety for all of our fans, followers, and racers from the Rozhon and Keirns Families.
