About 13 minutes into the video conference on May 28, the Governor shared that racing facilities will be permitted to begin operations (with restrictions) as early as May 29th. We are waiting for the “other restrictions” list before we finalize our “game plan” for reopening but know that going back racing is coming soon.

We will remain closed May 29-30 and hope to have additional updates very soon about events beginning in June.

Wednesday, May 13 update...

Not a ton of news to update for Virginia in terms of reopening the facility. We do know that Virginia plans to enter phase 1 of reopening and that continues to severely restrict participants at outdoor recreation venues and facilities like ours.

We will remain closed until we can accommodate an appropriate sized crowd to make financial sense to reopen. We will continue to develop plans and prepare for a time when we can be back on track in such a format that it’s financially viable for us to operate. Stay tuned to our website and social platforms for updates.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Like many other tracks have promoted, we will not race until we are allowed fans in the stands (we certainly will abide by social distancing protocol etc) and having some sense of normalcy around our facility.

We are getting lots of questions about when and how we are going to reopen for our season. At this point, we have NO answers.

Current Governor Executive Orders for the Commonwealth of Virginia prohibit our operation and we will continue to do the right thing and respect those orders for the immediate future.

We are anxiously awaiting a "reopening plan" on the part of the Commonwealth of Virginia that outlines the precautions, steps and processes that will enable us to begin to return to normal and operate.

We have currently negotiated with our vendors, insurance providers etc to enable us to reduce or eliminate our payments and expenses while we are not operational. When we do have an opportunity to move towards reopening and re-engaging, we will do so while balancing the economics of it all. (ie, we will NOT reopen with a restriction on our facility to limit our crowd to such a small number that we cannot be profitable and contribute to overhead after expenses).

We want to race, we wish to be open but we will continue to be respectful business owners and responsible for the well being of our fans, racers, staff and marketing partners. As more information is made available to us, we will certainly be sharing it with you and we sincerely hope to resume the 2020 racing season soon!
